Beatles fans do not have to wait much longer until the most anticipated films of the decade is released.

Nowhere Boy is a film about the man behind the legendary rock group The Beatles and is set to grace our screens on Boxing Day.

Directed by newcomer to the film world, Sam Taylor Wood, Nowhere boy explores the journey the young boy Lennon took to get to where he is today.

It begins with the troubles the child encountered with his mother and aunty, as well as his odd relationship with his father.

Despite Lennon’s family issues, he battled on and found solace in a musical instrument – the guitar.

From here we pay tribute to a man who defined the music world as much as any other.

The movie is set in the early 1950s in London, England, and allows viewers to gain an insightful background into all the members of the rock group.

The main criticisms of the film is that it is not an accurate portrayal of Lennon and the era in which he grew up in.

Many have said that he comes across as a lot more aggressive and self-centered than he was those years ago.

On the other hand, one thing that must be commended is the acting line up, especially the role by newcomer Aaron Johnston, who has proven he is not to be a one hit wonder.
