It’s good to see the movie world adapt to the 21st century.

One genre that has been slow in making the move to adapt to the new popular culture we live in has been the superhero genre.

For years we have been living in the memories of Superman, Batman, Spiderman and never really tried to make a new breed of fighting superhero’s.

Until now.

Kick Ass is a new release by director Matthew Vaughn, and is all about new age superhero’s, known as a group called kick ass.

At the beginning we are introduced to Dave Lizewski, an unnoticed high school student who lives comic books so much that one day he makes the simple decision to become a super-hero even though he has no powers or training.

He is eventually joined by Red Mist, Hit Girl and her dad, known as Big Daddy and they form a team to dismantle vandals, evil people and bad guys.

While doing so, they have heaps of funny moments, and really do adopt a humorous approach to their lives.

This is summed up by their slogan, which reads:

I can’t read your mind. But I can kick your ass.

I can’t be invisible. But I can kick your ass.

I can’t fly. But I can kick your ass.

I can’t see through walls. But I can kick your ass.

Shut Up. Kick-Ass.

Have fear. They’re here.

A new breed of superheroes will be revealed.

All in all, Kick Ass is a great little movie, and is out now at most cinemas around the country.
