The Saw movie franchise is now moving onto its sixth installment, and fast approaching that point where you either love the gore-filled suspense thrillers, or just think they are overdone and repetitive.

Either way there are some things that are for sure in the latest Saw VI flick. One, is that even in his death, the man behind the domino of murders, Jigsaw, will be sure to have a dominant role, and another, is that there will be blood, guts and horrific cringe worthy scenes.

The sixth Saw movie sees Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), despite his presence six foot under the earth, orchestrate even more chaotic and psychopathic killings then when he walked the earth.

The latest puppet of the monster is Detective Hoffman, who survived Saw V and will now take the reigns as the man behind the latest attacks.

One of the best scenes in he film involves a cruel carousel with six people strapped around it. An uncaring doctor, William, is coerced into selecting two survivors while he witnesses the splattered deaths of the rest.

While the past few Saw movies have been flops in the industry, one of the key ingredients in bringing the series back to life has been the return of the original director, and production company.

James Wan was the brains behind the highly popular first release, but then it was kidnapped by Hollywood, which saw it crumble into yet another predictable horror franchise.

Wan’s return may well have just been the last gasp effort to save the Saw brand, and keep it alive for at least a few more films.

Saw VI opens in cinemas around Australia this week.
